Had ERCP today

I haven't talked to the doc yet... will see him at my follow up tomorrow but he came out to talk to my husband after finishing the procedure and told him that he removed a few stones and had to make a larger incision in there somewhere. Will ask about that tomorrow.

But anyways, I'm fine. A little sore throat and some heartburn sensation but that's all. I'm just glad it is done. Now if I can avoid it happening again next year... :)

My question was more around "should I be worrying about the occasional tiny pain?"
Not sure if any of you can answer that question, but for those of you who have had your gallbladder removed, what is your experience?

When this happened about 3 months ago, my surgeon said he'd only be concerned if the pain was sharp and accompanied by jaundice, nausea, etc. Pain by itself doesn't concern him at this point, and it is really really tiny as it is.

It's just that after what I went through last year, I am super vigilant and nervous and have become somewhat of a hypochondriac, which I hate! I also don't want to be like the boy who cried wolf, running to the dr. for every little thing.

What is your view? If you were me, when would you run to the doctor and what is to be expected, less than a year after open gallbladder surgery for a gallbladder that was apparently PACKED with stones? For the record, I'm relatively young (31) and small (about 100 lbs), so I apparently don't fit the profile for any of these.

Thanks!

Hi Bebe!

Have you talked to your doctor about this pain?

Hello,
I've made an appointment with my surgeon for Thursday, so I'll let you know.

Since my surgery last year, I've become SUPER vigilant, which is getting to be quite annoying, both for me and those around me. I think that every little pain is serious, and I'm afraid of being like the boy who cried wolf... make sense? I'm so lucky that my surgeon is patient with me.

When I say the pains are TINY, I mean TINY. If I hadn't gone through what I went through last year, I wouldn't even notice these.

Thanks!
Bebe

Hi all,
I went to my surgeon yesterday and he verified that there was nothing weird going on inside, like a hernia. He says I look good, no jaundice, etc, and I confirmed that I had no nausea, no fever, and no bowel changes.

So he suggested I get a liver function test. If that comes out normal, then I'm fine. He suspects that I am fine, but I obviously will go for a blood test and will keep you posted.

Thanks!
