This does sound like a gallbladder attack to me. My mom had hers out and said that she had pain that would radiate through to her shoulder blades after eating anything fatty or spicy. I would definately check with your doctor though.

Sounds like it - and particularly if it runs in your family.

Better to make an apt with your doctor sooner than latter to get a diagnosis and scheudle the surgery if it is a GB situaion.

If it is GB the damage can't be reveresed and the stones won't just go away. Symptoms can be controlled by diet (low fat diet - there is an on line journal at www.fitday.com so you can see what percentage of your diet is fat. When I first used it I was totally amazed at the results - and not in a good way!)

With GB's it's better to get them removed before you are in a crisis - always easier to operate on a relatively healthy person than one who isn't well.

If you experience any of the following go to the ER right away:
vomiting that won't stop
constant diahrea (meaning several times in a day & nothing stays in)
dehydraytion
severe pain that doesn't get better
yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes or gums

Best of luck,

Jo
