Love I Village. I have had two months of abdominal pain near the naval area and slightly lower. Usually it had no pattern (before meals, after meals, day time, night time) but now it's around 5 AM. I sometimes eat nocturnally so will have to see if there is a pattern. My MD gave me Zantac as he thinks it is acid but I really do not notice acid. What I do notice is SEVERE abdominal bloating. I did have clay colored stools for a week and diarreah but now it's ok. LOTS of gas too..no fever and stools look normal now. He did push the tummy exam and said no masses..
I have a huge deductable so avoid going to the MD but realize I must. Any ideas?
My cousin has Celiacs. I avoid dairy and wheat these days but no improvements that I notice. The biggest worry is I went from a 27" waist and 32" lower ab to 29 and 34!!
I am a little scared..am 44 years young..and about 5# overweight..

Hi and Welcome
Hi anahidrose - GB pains do not respond to Zantac or other Rx /OTC products for acid reflux. But GB pains will either flare to the point where you are an ER or just sort of go away - sometimes within hours - other times gradually over several days.
I think you do need to see a doctor to find out what exactly is going on - then you can at least put your mind at ease and begin treatment of the symptoms.
You may all ready have this information - but if not (or if others are interested) the following link is a list of foods to eliminate from your diet when doing a celiac food trial.
http://www.celiac.ca/egfdiet2.html#avoid
It does take several weeks of strict adhearance to the plan till results are usually seen - and even then if you go without for several weeks then eat something with gluten in it then you normally have a fairly immediate reaction (ie within the day).
Hope things work out and please let us know what the doctor says,
Jo
Thanks for the time..I saw a wholistic MD who also suggested Aloe Vera. My whole gut / GI area is imflammed and irritated from acid. My naval ring is infected and I have candida..sheeesh..
Now my curiosity about cider vinegar is piqued..isn't that acid?? Why or how does this help??
Hi - what exactly was in the tuna salad? If mayo - then it likely included egg (which is a common trigger for digestive disorders) and high in fat (also a trigger for a number of digestive disorders). If it came from a deli or pre-made in a can/container it could very well have contained dairy and most likely gluten (salad dressings, dried seasonings, Worcestershire are all on the 'foods to question' list)
Did the doctor that you saw suggest ordering tests to check your liver enzymes? or any other sort of diagnostics? What does he think it is that aloe vera will help it.
Hope that it works for you - aleo vera can be very soothing and certainly won't do any harm - but I thought that one of the side effects could be diahrea (may be wrong on that).what type of aloe vera are you using? one from a health food store - or one the dr sells?
Jo
The tuna was from a pizza place..one scoop on lettuce. I rarely eat mayo so it is unusual for me to ingest it..
The MD says Aloe is an imflammatory. I bought a bottle at the health food store.
No further tests..just eat clean, no gluten or dairy for awhile (BTW, I eliminate so well when I am off gluten and dairy)...wait and see..so far 24 hours I am fine..
Anahidrose,
