Well the ultrasound was interesting to say the least. I didn't realize that the doctor ordered all of my organs to be looked at during the ultrasound (all except the ovaries I think). I've already had an ultrasound for that area.
Anyway, I wasn't really nervous because I knew it wouldn't hurt. I also consider myself lucky that I got an informative technician. She would announce which organ she was looking at and at one point, she announced "well I've almost ruled out gallstones". She made another comment - "well you do have alot of gas".
So there I was thinking okay this isn't the gallbladder, but she ran over an area on my upper right side near my back (almost right on my ribcage) and announced "this hurts, doesn't it" and I'm laying there thinking yeah it does...and how do you know.
She hit another sore spot about an inch or so above my navel.
She ran into some trouble scanning my left kidney. Apparently my stomach was blocking the view. I ended up rolled over on my side...darn near lying on my stomach so she could get a good view. That is where the pain came in...
At that point she started asking a bunch of questions - do you have back pain, do you have other tests scheduled for today, have you ever had a ct scan or an mri?
I'm not a wimp about pain but most of the whole experience ranged from uncomfortable to painful depending on where she was. She didn't press very hard.
I'm trying not to worry but I am a little. I should hear back from the doctor tomorrow.
(today I'm home with chills, extreme tiredness and just a general sense of yuck...so I know there has to be something wrong somewhere)
I've been quiet about the results because I'm so lost and shocked. No gallstones and they say all of my other organs look fine.
I guess I should be happy because I deal with so much already - cerebral palsy, underactive thyroid, migraines, uterine fibroids, high blood pressure, pedal edema (my feet are so large today I can't wear shoes)...
But I'm not happy. I don't feel like a person I even recognize anymore. I miss more days than I actually work anymore. I didn't want anything major wrong but I wanted something they could finally fix.
I've been reading alot about gallbladder flushes and kidney flushes. I've never been a huge homopathic (I guess that's the right term)person but I'm at my wits end.
