Left Side Pain; Not Diverticulosis

This is my first posting on this board, but not my first ivillage posting. I've found that when all else fails, the women at ivillage usually come through like champs! I've been experiencing pain in the lower left side of my abdomen, extending sometimes to my hip and down my left thigh, and occasionally even into the groin area.
I recently had a CT scan of the abdomen that showed no diverticulosis, and aside from a small liver cyst that will be checked out by ultrasound this week, everything looked "excellent." BUT I STILL HAVE THE PAIN, and a new ditzy internist who's clueless. Oh, and at the same time, I've been having what I think is the usual gamut of IBS symptoms: on and off cramping after meals, on and off constipation, on and off pain at the top end of the stomach (esp. left side), and finally, gas pressure and the need to expel it.
Any thoughts for a worried and confused advertising writer (lots of stress) who's 54?
THANK YOU!
