I'm with Wren on this one. For me - I would check with my MD or Naturopath.

I was at a lecture my a herbalist last year and some of the questions that came up after the lecture were about de-toxing. He said that the best detox is what most people call 'diet from hell'. For 5 weeks you can eat anything you want except: white stuff (meaning refined carbs - white rice, any sugar, white flour), meat (if you opt to eat fish or poultry limit it to once a week), dairy or eggs.

If that is to overwhelming for you then just pick one or two of the above and give it a go.

Doesn't cost anything - if you are used to eating meat then you'll find that other protiens are much less expensive than meat. And it automatically eliminates nearly all processed foods (which are expensive).

His thoughts were that most people are looking to make money (as many of the de-tox kits are sold my multi-level-marketers) or consumers looking for an easy answer or for a quick fix.

Increasing water intake will help with dehydraytion. I would think a colon cleansing may actually cause more dehydraytion. (but I don't know - just my mind running wild)

If you are still having discomfort of any sort I wouldn't be trying anything that may have an impact on the liver without medical supervision.

The Naturopathic clinic that I go to charges about $200 for the first visit. If you have a medical plan that covers Naturopaths then it will be covered - most private health plans that cover physio and chiropractic include Naturopaths as well (with a yearly $ limit - mine covers up to $500 per year). They recommend vitamins - but for the most part I do not buy them from him (and they are happy with that)They actually don't stock a lot of vitamins - only the ones that are hard to find at health food stores. If I did feel preasured to spend lots of $ on the stuff that *they* sell I'd be a bit suspicious. They do sell homeopathic remedies - but they are very inexpensive. I was using one pre-GB surgery and a $12 bottle lasted 2 months.

Hope you are feeling better soon,
Jo

Hey Donna,

I have to agree also with what Wren and Jo said.

HI, i think these people are just out to make money, but i am wondering why my stomach feels yucky all the time, still some discomfort in the upper right from the surgery but mainly ive got pain in the naval area that i dont understand, i find it hurts the worse about 2 hrs after I eat. stramge to me.have not had any bowel problems before or after the gb surgery i go once a day and its normal.cant seem to make any sence over this mess.
Thanks
