Hi again!
I'm still having a bowel movement about five/six times a day. No blood/pain though. Just wondering if this is still normal. Before I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis I'd go only once (rarely twice) a day. I go back to the specialist the beginning of June so will ask then. I told the specialist this when I was there the other week and he did not really say anything. Maybe it is the meds? The stool looks "healthy" but not like it did before I was diagnosed. Sorry to be so graphic...

Hi Jane,
Hi!
Yes, this is normal for UC.
The specialist said that I'd see the Asacol pills in my stool as they don't get absorbed by the body, just "coat" the area. I have *not* seen any pills in my stool. Maybe they are in there but way embedded in the stool. Should I be concerned? I'll mention this all to the specialist when I go back in a few weeks.... just wondering your input. Thank you.
Jane,
Don't worry if you can't see them. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. Once you start to really heal, you may begin to see them then. Coming off the prednisone you will find you have more aches and pains, this is normal. You will have pain you didn't have before so don't be alarmed. Just warning you in advance.
Hugs,
