Hi to all. as most of you remember I had my gallbladder removed 8 weeks ago today, was at the surgeons at the 2 week checkup and still was not feeling well went for 4 week checkup still not well they did blood work and my liver is good and my white count is good. my question is now its been 8 weeks and i still feel horrible. stomach is up set all the time some days a little some days pains all day. ive been on a low fat diet and it is not helping. pain is still in mid upper radiating to upper left and right goes down to navel and across both side from there. do i call the surgeon back and demand test or is this still normal to feel this way. i usually have a BM once a day so that isnt the problem. the diet does not seem to be the problem im at a loss here and getting very depressed about this im suppose to go to Fla on vac in 5 weeks and im thinking of not going now. my dr did pancreaatic enzymes and they were normal ( does that mean i dont have pancreaitis??) upper GI showed no problems but the reflux acting up.. any suggestions would be very helpful here.the surgeon told me to give it 2 months which will be on the 21st of this month.
Thanks in advance

I've had similar symptoms since the removal of my gallbladder. Someone told me that lactase (milk enzyme) is more difficult for your body to breakdown post gallbladder surgery because your gallbladder isn't there to release the bile to help break it down. I have cut dairy out of my diet - pretty much anyway. No more cereal in the a.m. No milk in the coffee, I use non-dairy creamer. I can eat cheese, in small amounts. So far this doesn't seem to bring on the pain. For breakfast I'll have a plain bagel, sometime w/ fruit. I know I can't eat broccoli either, I get EXTREME pain if I do. Same thing with nuts. During one of your "flare-ups" have you tried to take an acid reducer, like Prilosec? I have tried this at my Doc's suggestion and it seems to have helped me. I hope you feel better!!!!

Below is the link to the nutritional content of Subway food.

My favourite - Nature's Valley - Peanut Butter has 190 calories per serving (2 bars) - but 28% of the calories are from fat. Much to high for my delecate system - unless I balance it out by eating very little in the way of fat the rest of the day.
It's quite an eye opener!
Hope you are feeling better real soon,
Jo
