Hi there, I've been a lurker here for quite a few months. I was diagnosed with gallstones in December. My attacks started shortly after my dd was born in Feb/03. They started only being about 10-15 minutes in length. I saw a surgeon in Feb of this year and she said that we would wait to see if I had anymore attack and if I had 2 or more, to come back and see her. Well I had my 2nd one last night. They seem to come every 10-12 weeks.
Anyways, my question is I was wondering if it was normal to have pressure the day after an attack. My attack came on pretty strong and I took an Advil Extra Strength Liquid Gel and it seemed to go away within the 1/2 hour. It kinda came back an hour after that and I've kind of had this pressure ever since. Its kinda like something heavy is sitting on my chest(right under my rib cage). I've never had this the day after an attack before. Its not pain, its just really uncomfortable. I called the surgeon and I don't get in until the 9th of June.
I am so petrified of this surgery. I am so scared that I will have to have it the old fashoined way. My surgeon told me that about 5-10% of people will have to have this done. I have two small children(one of whom is still breast-feeding), and I am so scared to be away from them. They need me so much.
Sorry so long, but could someone please tell me if this is normal to have this pressure the day after an attack?

HI Emma1107!!
Welcome to the board!
Are you
Anyways, my question is I was wondering if it was normal to have pressure the day after an attack.
I never really had any bad "attacks" but I did have minor ones where I would feel pressure, a dull aching under my rib cage and pain in my shoulder blade for hours after eating fatty foods. I remember the pressure would stay the day after and it was always located in the same spot the aching was. I did not have stones just cholesterol polyps and an iflammed GB wall. I had the surgery done laparoscopically and it was a breeze. My mom had her's done the old fashioned "slice you wide open" way. She had stones. I remember her once telling me that her GB surgery wasn't as bad as the C-Section she had with my brother...don't know if that's any help because my mom tends to over-exaggerate things sometimes LOL. But I can tell you that laparoscopically the worse part was the CO2 they use to inflate your abdomen with caused some pretty bad shoulder pains for me. Other than that I was only taking tylenol extra strength for the first day and that was it.
