Hi,
I'm usually on the crohn's and colitis board because I have U/C. I lurk on this board also. I had a question. Has anyone had surgery for a liver cyst/ liver adenoma? I was told I have one, it is quite big 10cm X 7cm. There might be a few smaller ones also. I was told by my doc that if it does require surgery there would be a mercedes incision. That is a big cut. Has anyone had this done. I'd like to know what to expect. This is very scarry... any input would be appreciated, thank you

thanks for replying. My doc. ( surgeon ) just called today he went over the MRI with his radiologist and they agreed that the cyst/or adenoma is not on the liver but on the adrenal gland. They want to do laparoscopic surgery instead. That sounds a bit better than having a large incision. Now I just need to find out more about that procedure on the net. What I have found so far is that they take out the entire gland. What I can't find is what the risks are of living with only one adrenal gland. And if they can just remove the adenoma/cyst without removing the gland. I have an appt. on the 22 of this month, but I would like to find out more before that so that I can ask him the right questions.

thanks, DENISE
