Horrible Insurance and Horrible Pain

Hello. I feel as though I am groping in the dark here, but maybe someone has some ideas or resources that might help.
I have terrible insurance - A $5,000 deductable which in no way can I afford to have my gallbladder removed. I just finally finished paying off a hospital bill from 1998 from having appendix removed. I am with Humana One and if I up my coverage, with pre-existing conditions, I would have to wait one year before anything would be covered.
Does anyone know of any kind of program through a medical school where the fees are dramatically reduced for teaching purposes?
I am under the care of a doctor who has let my colonoscopy test slide another year because I have pleaded to wait until I hopefully had better insurance. So far my options are:
1. To make payments the rest of my life to hospitals
2. Marry someone who has better health insurance :>)
3. Go on welfare so I can have insurance
4. Move to Canada?
These options are all horrible, yet I am having episode after episode of horrible pain, throwing up, missing time from work, heartburn.
Do anyone have any ideas? I have tried special diets, medications and I am convinced that the gallbladder just needs to come out once and for all.
Thanks for listening to my frustrations...
Colleen
