Really bad stomach pain :(

I have had this horrible pain in my stomach for about 5 years now... when I first got it I went through a bunch of tests... ultrasound, ct scan... and I took prilosec (they thought it was an ulcer) and nothing helped and they didn't find anything.. recently it has gotten a lot worse... It is ALWAYS in the same place, slightly to the right of my left rib cage... and it feels like a burning sharp pain... It hurts more when I am hungry and when I have to go number 2 (sorry TMI I know!!!) I don't want to have more tests done until I know what it could be..... My previuos dr thought I might have IBS but I have read about IBS and this doesn't sound like it... its not cramping.... its always in the same spot....Any advice??? Thanks!!

I would also have your Doctor check to see if your stomach is emptying correctly. Mine doesn't and they did a simple test to see if it worked right or not and it doesn't. my Dr put me on Reglan, I take it before eating 3 times a day and once before bed and i have noticed a HUGE change in the pain and nausea since then... A few weeks ago he also went in with a scope and botox'd the bottom stomach muscle of my stomach, that wasn't working correctly, open so it would be easier for food to pass through. I have felt TONS better since than!

I am getting an endoscopy hopefully SOON the doctors office is still trying to fit me in for one... My stomach pain has been really REALLY bad the past few nights but I have taken some zantac and drank some milk and I felt better... Can the doc see from an endoscopy if the stomach is emptying right? He said that are going to look at the lining of my stomach... My problem is different though because it is in a very localized spot... and has been for 4 years... Thanks!

Hey Kelly!

Sometimes the doctor can see it emptying and other times not.
