Could it be an ulcer?

I have been talking about this stomach problem I have had for a while in this message board as well as the GERD message board.. I have been thinking about it and was wondering if maybe it really *could* be an ulcer... I did get tested for ulcers four years ago and went in for a CT scan and Ultra sound... but I wonder if maybe then the ulcer was small and they couldn't see it?? Because the pain has definitely gotten progressively worse...I also got tested for that H Palori stuff and was found to be neg... Or would they definitely have seen something even if it was small back then? Hmmmmmmmm.... I was looking up the symptoms of an ulcer and I def. have them... when I eat spicey foods it hurts more and when I take antacids and drink milk it feels better... Any advice? I am still waiting on an endoscopy appointment (which seems to be taking forever)....

Thanks!!

~Kelly

Kelly,

It could be an ulcer, it could be GERD, it could be something entirely different.

I was just wondering were the pain is located upper or lower left or right.I think you said your doc had put you on prilosec this is some times used to make ulsers feel better.
it is also used for gerd. upper left side pain some times signals gallblader disseas. your doc can do an ultra sound to check and alot of times gastros dont think of the easy fixes.also if theres been a change in your bowel pattern you might want to ask about ulserrative colits, and crohns.five years is a long time for abdominal pain to go on.good luck with endoscopy.
