Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been around in a while.  Its been crazy around here with everything going on.  It looks like I finally got a diagnosis after 18 months of trying to find out what is going on.  Dr officially diagnosed me with Crohn's Disease 2 1/2 weeks ago.  He had gone to some type of conference & talked with several specialists there.  They all agreed that even though the biopsy came back negative, the fact that I have significant "cobblestoning" where the small intestine meets the large intestine & these other symptoms, they felt 100% sure that I do have Crohn's disease.  The one specialist up in New York, who is a really good friend of my dr here, recommended that my dr down here & I locate a dr that is listed at ccfa.org website & get in to see them.  Unfortunenatly, so far none of the drs listed on that website that are near here (within a 6 hour drive of here) take my insurance (military insurance).  The dr in New York said if I want to come up there, he will be glad to treat me.  At this point, I am almost willing to take him up on it.  I am here in NC.  Do any of you have any recommendations???  Any books that I should read???  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks a million!  I can be emailed at tswilley@ec.rr.com

Congrats on a diagnosis - not good that it's Crohns but I'm sure it feels good to finally know and it gives me hope that they'll eventually diagnosis me too. (My biopsies have also come back negative but my drs are thinking Crohns)

I just ordered this book:
Title:
Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis: an Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed.
Author: Sklar, Jill.

I haven't received it yet but it's supposed to be good and Jill posts on these boards & has always posted helpful replies.

Good Luck!
