digestive enzymes/acid reflux?

Hi there, haven't posted in a while, but I have a new question. I've been taking digestive enzymes now for about one month, have really helped with my gas & IBS problems, but in the past couple of days, I've started to notice that I have a bit of a burning feeling in my throat, sort of like acid reflux but I don't have the heartburn pain. I must admit that I do pop a couple of Goodys' headache powders a couple of times a day, and I'm beginning to think this is the problem. I do sometimes have a little stomach pain shortly after taking one, I know I need to stop, so I'm trying. I was just curious to see if anyone else has had any problems with digestive enzymes. To make matters worse, I had a terrible IBS flare up last night, didn't get to sleep until almost 3am, so I'm working today on 3 hours of sleep! I still have the burning sensation in my throat, and have taken a couple of maalox and one acid reducer pill, doesn't seem to last for more than 30 minutes. I did have some club crackers earlier when I got to work and the salt on the crackers seemed to bother it.
Got any suggestions?
Thanks,
Valerie

ok, I'm still having the dull burning/scratchy feeling in the back of my throat. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not the digestive enzymes. I never have this feeling when I wake up, but as the afternoon progresses and the evening, it returns. By this time, I've taken 2 with breakfast and 2 with lunch. I think I will cut back to 1 per meal to see if this makes a difference, but taking the enzymes has definitely helped me alot with the gas problems and belching several hours after I eat. I've been taking these for just over 1 month and I've noticed this burning feeling for about the last 1 1/2-2 weeks now, and this is the only new thing I've added.
Got another question too. Does anyone have like joint pains? I thought maybe I wasn't getting enough calcium, but I take 2 softgels every day and drink at least 8-10 oz of Lactaid whole milk, sometimes mixed with the Breyer's Lastose Free ice cream. I also have a yogurt every other day. Then I did read in one of my digestion books, that joint and body pain can be from not enough essential fatty acids. I had fish for dinner last night and didn't hurt as bad this afternoon. But since I've lost the weight that I had, sometimes sitting on a hard chair or bench just plain hurts! I need to get more padding back there so my tailbone doesn't hurt so much. It seems to bother my hips as well. Anyhow, does anyone take anything for joints?

Valerie,
Valerie,
Hey girl.
Hey Lynn and Wren,
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to your responses, but I went straight to scout summer camp after work on Thursday and we just got back a couple of hours ago. Getting all the laundry done now, and just relaxing before we are back at it again tomorrow morning for the last week of summer camp.
As for the digestive enzymes, I haven't taken any for 2 days and the burning feeling is gone from my throat, just having some gas and bloating pains so far. I think I lay off for the next week and then try them back again, just one with lunch and dinner, my bigger meals, and see how that works out.
Lynn, I had the suction cup thing done too when I saw the acuptuntist and it did help to releave some of my stress. She told me it's really a big thing with celebrities now.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Valerie
As long as you are Ok
