Remember me? I used to be over on the surgical menopause board. Well, now I'm facing the possibility of having ulcerative colitis. I have a colonoscopy set for Sept. 6 and I came here and found the EXCELLENT and OUTSTANDING tips of colon prep and am almost looking forward to the whole ordeal. (ok, almost but not quite, LOL)
I've had several attacks over the last year and have had to wait an agonizing 9 months for my insurance to kick in and cover this procedure because they considered it a pre-existing condition.
I'm not sure how often I can get here during the day.... but will try to stop by. If I don't post often, I do at least hope to read. Anybody who has ulcerative colitis, I would love to hear from and you can e-mail me at Kabrimida@hotmail.com (is it okay to put that here???)
No matter what they find, I want to try to handle things as positively as possible. I hate medication and would prefer to use natural type tools. Right now I am taking Optiflora by Shaklee and drinking Braggs apple cider vinegar drink 3 times a day. Have noticed dramatic improvements.
Ok, enough about me. But it's good to see a friendly "face" here Lynn!

Hey there!!!!!
How the heck are you???!!!
Usually
Wren,
You are more than "Welcome" to post on any of the posts that are addressed to me.
Oh my yes! Wren write to me! The only reason I addressed Lynn personally was because I know her from another board and it was cool to see that there was somebody I "know" here. Being a newbie on a board is always a scary thing and I have not been posting at ivillage for a very very long time (more than a year).
If it turns out I do have colitis, I refuse to take steroids. I would prefer to do all I can naturally. I am drinking apple cider vinegar and honey water 3x a day. I am drinking barley water. I am taking probiotics for colon health. I am sticking to a low residue diet and trying to work in some fiber a little at a time. I am also into meditation (because whatever triggers my attacks is very stress related).
I am open to any suggestions, ideas, encouragement, help, etc.... from EVERYBODY.
Never, ever am I one to exclude another. Life is short. Make all the friends you can. Touch all the lives you can, and live for the day. That is my motto. :-)
Thanks
Wren, we have a lot in common. I love to cook. I run a little baking business on the side, out of my home, for people I know. Mostly cookies, brownies and eclairs.
You live in NY and I grew up in Vermont. Now live in Utah. My mom is a bird lover. She has 7 bird feeders. You have DD and DS. I have 1 DD and 3 DS. Divorced the DH cause he wasn't so D.
Well, it is late here and I have work tomorrow. I better get some sleep. I will try to pop on to ivillage during work tomorrow when nobody is looking. hehehe
Michelle
O my
