Any ideas?

Almost a year ago I was told I had ibs and it's not got any better.
The thing is my doctor says I've lost too much weight and that isn't normal for ibs, and if I lose anymore he will want to investigate further.
Firstly, any tips for putting on a bit of weight?
Secondly, what tests will the doctor want to do?

Any advice appreciated.

Let me give you a bit of background...A bit long - Sorry!
About a year ago I was having really bad stomach cramps, felt like period pains but so much worse. I also had a bit of bleeding between periods, so I assumed there was something wrong in that area. I visited my local Well Woman Clinic - She found my uterus was swollen so sent my to my GP to refer me to a Gyn. My appointment was 6 months later, he found no swelling and the bleeding had stopped but I was still in constant pain. He said it was IBS, but didn't tell my to go back to the GP for further testing, just advice on diet.
Did as I was told and the pains are not so bad or frequent now but I'm in the toilet 5 times a day and have lost about 30lbs in weight. I also fell a bit down and worn out- but that's normal with a 2 year old to care for!
I had a check-up a few weeks ago, she said I'd lost a lot of weight since I last saw her, and asked if I was dieting - to which I said no it's the ibs. So she said they'd want to look into that if I lost much more, I'm at the lowest healthy weight for me.
And here I am.
Other symptoms, tired, grumpy, moody, feel queasy in morning but can't stomach breakfast (definately not pregnant!), and generally feeling bloated but everyone says how slim I am.
I am going to start a food diary to see if I can find a pattern - how detailed should this be? It doesn't seem to matter what I eat - I suffer every day until lunchtime.
I try not to eat greasy things, I don't drink alcohol very often, and I'm swapping some coffees for tea instead.
To be honest, the thought of all those tests freaks me out!
What's a GI?
I don't really mind the weight loss - I'd only want to gain 5lb or so back!

Thanks for helping me with this, my boyfriend just seems to think I have a tummy ache and that alot of people would be grateful to lose weight without trying!!

I agree with the others here --- you really need to get this checked out, 30 lb weight loss is not normal for IBS. Also, do keep a food journal to see if there is anything that definitely triggers things. The tests are really not that bad --- and they can tell a wealth of information.

Please go see a specialist in gastroenterology or internal medicine.

I'm due to go on holiday in a few months, but don't want this affecting my holiday.
If I can't see my GP before, do you think it would be ok to take Immodium while I'm away, so that I was to only go toilet once a day?
I don't want to need the bathroom while I'm out sightseeing!
