Severe constipation

Hi everyone..nice to meet everyone here talking about bowel movements..lol. Thought I'd join in the conversation since I have been having some severe constipation lately. I am almost always constipated, and am very aware of what is causing it. I don't drink nearly enough water, and my diet could be a lot better. I'm wondering if maybe stress has something to do with it as well. Anyway...this is embarassing, but here goes. It's been almost 2 weeks since I'have had a bm. My husband tells me I must be holding it in, but I don't. I simply don't ever feel the need to go, and when I do, it's when I force myself and only because I know how unhealthy it is to be irregular. Anyway, this evening I tried my hardest to have a bm, but no luck. I feel as though it's stuck up there, and I really don't want to get hemmroids (I have had them before and it's worse than being constipated..lol) I just took a couple laxatives, which I also don't like doing because I wake up in the middle of the night with THE WORST stomach ache ever...I lterally roll around in agony. But I know I need to do it, I am afraid of what might happen to my insides if I go another week or two without a bm. Can someone please tell me if having a bm every two weeks could do serious harm to me healthwise..and what I can do on a regular basis to become more regular? I seriously think my problems are stress related. Thanks for any help!
