Hello, everyone! I am 31 yrs old and have had acid reflux and IBS for 13-14 years. I am on Nexium and now Carafate and Reglan, also. I have Severe pain any time I eat anything. It is in my upper abdomen in the middle. I have alot of gas and diareah as well. This has been going on for three weeks. They did an upper and lower GI, and GallBladder ultrasound and HIDA test. Everything is normal. I called back today, and they siad maybe it's just spasms, they are going to call something in. But I ended up in the ER Sat after eating scrambled eggs at 10:00 am, I had severe pain for 12 hours. I was wondering if anyone has had anytihng similar or any suggestions? I can't live on water and Jello!! Thanks!!

Wren gave you some great ideas. Maybe try keeping a log of what you eat, what the ingredients are in the food along with what you are cooking them in. It might give you a clue as to what upsets your stomach.

I have ulcerative colits and gerd and I find if I eat too much or the wrong foods that I can't tolerate (everyone is diff), then I will get awful stomach cramps and diarrhea and feeling like I am having a heart attack with the gerd.

Sometimes it just takes looking back on what you are eating can uncover some of the problems.

My daughter also has gerd and IBS and she finds when she eats fatty food or certain spaghetti sauces, etc. everything acts up on her and she gets naseau, diarrhea and cramps as well.

Let us know how you make out.

Ellen

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think I have figured out that it is a new sleep med they are giving me for my fibromyalgia. I have been taking Xyrem at night, and this started happening right after that. I have had alot of attacks with the GERD and IBS, but nothing like these last few weeks. So, I'm going to try going off that and see if it helps. Thanks again!!
Hugs,

Hey Sandy,

Sometimes sleep meds do that.

Thanks! No, I can't do sigs (yet) someone from the siggy showcase made it for me. I called the Dr, and he said go off of it for three days, then try again and see what happens.
I'm sorry your knees hurt!! Do you hurt elsewhere also or just your knees? I hope you don't have fibro, it's certainly no fun :( Have they done xrays and stuff for your knees?
Hugs,

I am doing much better, thank you! I just can't take that medicine. Mostly, my acid reflux is under control with the Nexium. I am still having problems with my IBS, though not as much as I was. How are you doing?
