I ended up opting to be put out completely instead of the conscious sedation as the procedure was going to take 1 1/2 hours - staying still that long is hard. They did do a partial masectomy as my ca was in 2 areas that were close together, so they did not have to do a complete one.
Anyway, I am sitting here at home with an ice pack on my chest and 2 vicadyns for the pain which is pretty bad. 1 was not cutting it, so they said I could have up to 2 at a time --- so I took the other one.
I should get the pathology results either the end of the week or Monday. If they got clean borders, then I will be sent to a medical oncologist and radiation oncologist and I can start the rest of my tx. If not clean margins --- then I have to go back in again.
So obviously --- I want the clean margins :)!!!
I can't thank you guys enough for the support and caring you have shown me.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Ellen

Ellen,
I am glad you were out for the surgery.
Dear Ellen,
So glad to hear your surgery went well - but sorry to hear that you are hurting. Hope that the pain will lessen soon. More importantly I'm hoping that you get those "clean margins"! My fingers and toes are crossed and I said a little prayer too!
Take Care!
