has anyone had the test were the inject dye in you and then xray you or something to see were the prob is they are going to do that to me tommarow and i was just wondering how bad it is going to be

Welcome. Are you talking about a CT scan? Those tests they insert an IV needle (a little uncomfortable --- but almost like taking blood). You might have a cold sensation in your vein when they inject the dye. Then you lie on a bed which goes into this round machine (the machine is only about 8-10 inches wide so if your abdomine is what they are looking at --- your legs are out one end and your head and shoulders is out the other end. The machine makes a whirring noise and they take the pictures. Usually, the test is over in 10-15 minutes.
It is not invasive and is over fast so it is really not a bad test at all.
If they are talking about injecting a dye, that may well be the test.
Most other tests involve drinking barrium/contrast and it does not sound like that is what you are having.
Hope this helps and good luck tomorrow Bridget.
Let us know how you make out

Hi Bridget - I've had the dye injected and then a CT scan. Most recent one was to view kidney function and it was done about 9 months ago.
They dye made me feel suddenly warm - and like I'd wet my pants! The nurse warned me about that feeling and when it happened she assured me I hadn't had an accident.
I felt quick sick after it. I'd had the dye before with no side effects - so I guess it's hard to say if it was they dye or the stress of going for yet another test. I went directly to work but just didn't feel myself all day. Not bad enough to go home - but a bit blehhhh.
Best of luck & please let us know how you are doing,
Jo
Hey Bridget,
Hopefully by now you aren't so sore.
