early a.m. diarrhea & I'm starving...

since Friday morning I've gone from waking up with nausea to waking up with diarrhea. The diarrhea only lasts about an hour or so and it is accompanied by abdominal cramps. It just feels icky. And to be awoken at 5am with it is even worse. But once it's done then that's it. I have some minor abdominal discomforts and my stomach churns and gurgles a lot throughout the day but it only gets upset early in the morning.

Weird, huh?

And I'm just feeling sooooooooooooo hungry. I want fried chicken soooooo bad I can almost taste it. And it's 10:30 in the morning right now. If I could just have a couple of bites.

Has anyone ever had it where they first were nauseous and vomiting and a week or so later it changed to diarrhea? I've been dealing with stomach problems for 3 weeks now and I thought there might be blood in my stools (I saw what looked like coffee grounds) so I went to the doctor this morning but it was negative on the blood. Which is a good thing! :) They ran some blood work but it's still a mystery as to what is causing my stomach to behave like this.

thank you. I will definitely follow those suggestions and see what happens.

Yes, the gallbladder could be the culprit but according to my US it's unclear. The gallbladder itself is normal. They found a non mobile, non shadowing mass that could possibly be a polyp and my common bile duct is mildly dilated at 8mm. Normal size is 5mm but many people have had dilations up to 15mm. There was no obvious sign of obstuction or stone but it hasn't yet been ruled out either.

I've been dealing with acid reflux for over a month now. It all started after a kidney infection that took a while for me to get over. I suspected some of the pain killers I was using (Naproxen, Advil) plus some of the antibiotics I was given might have aggravated the acid reflux. That is all I was dealing with until a few weeks ago when I woke up nauseas and was vomiting. That lasted a week! And the vomiting would only happen in the wee hours of the morning. And when I would vomit (or even cough) it felt like someone was torching my chest from the inside. It was painful!!! That is when my doc decided I should see a GI and get an upper endoscopy. The GI doc wanted a US of my gallbladder just to rule it out even though, at the time, I had no tenderness there or anything.

So that is where we are at. My app't is on the 21st. I sure hope they find something sooner than later cuz this has been uncomfortable for me. Last night I actually slept without any stomach disruptions! :) My stomach was gurgling quite a bit and I get migrating pains from right below my ribs and downward. These pains come and go.
