Gallbladder and Gas?

Is gas and gallbladder trouble at all connected?  I picked up my ultrasound and bloodwork results today, since I am going to meet with a surgeon tomorrow.  I noticed they made a note on the ultrasound report that I was gassy.  And I realized that I have been unusually gassy for the past few weeks or so.  I just wondered what that meant.  I have no clue.

I am going to meet with a surgeon tomorrow to go over my results and see if or when I need surgery.  I am so scared.  I have never had any kind of surgery before.  I have never had anything wrong with me before.  So needless to say, I am scared out of my mind about this appointment tomorrow.  I am so hoping they will say I don't need surgery.  But somehow I don't think that will be the case.  I know a lot of other people have gone through things that are way worse.  But for me, this is pretty bad.  And I am so scared.  If they tell me I need surgery, or that I need it soon, I don't know what I'll do.  Please say a prayer for me and my appt tomorrow!

It can be. My GI described people likely to have GB problems as fitting the 5 F's : fair, forty, fat, fertile and flatulent.

Good luck with your appointment. It's hard not to be nervous, but at least you'll get some answers. If they recommend surgery, but sure to ask about doing it laproscopically and all that.

Hi Christi!

Yep, gallbladder and gas sometimes go hand in hand.

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your apt. Make sure to take notes, ask lots of questions and find out how you can contact the surgeon if you have additional questions once you digest all he's told you.

Yes - there are worse things but that doesn't make what you are dealing with any less important. Please let us know how the apt goes and feel free to vent if you need to.

I was a wreck before my surgery and it really helped to let it out here - since my IP (in person) friends were likely sick of listening. And when they would tell me that 'it's nothing' I'd only feel worse for being anxious about it.

Scheduling an elective surgery is much easier on the body then an emergency surgery. Also better as far as
