I don't think I have mentioned this before, but my brother-in-law has a blood disorder that causes the liver to deteriorate like in cirrhosis (he is in his mid 50's).

For the last year and a 1/2 he has been in and out of the hospital with life threatening encepalopathy several times. He has been stable since the summer, however needs a liver transplant.

Well, next Wed. his son (23 y.o.) is donating a piece of his liver as a live doner and it will be transplanted to his father.

If everyone could just send some positive thoughts for all this to work out and that they come out of these procedures just fine, would be wonderful.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. What a wonderful thing for a son to do for his father! Please keep us updated on their progress.

Ellen,
what a tragic but wonderful story. I hope that my prayers are not too late - they must be doing the surgery today - anyway I pray that the surgery is a success and wish them both a healthy and speedy recovery!

I hope that you are doing well with your cancer treatments!

Take Care!

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts.

So far so good --- they both came through the surgery well. They are being moved out of intensive care.

So far my tx's are going well --- am starting to get really tired though --- think it has to do with my schedule as well :)!!!
