IBS medications in Canada

Hello everyone: I am hoping someone can help me with this question. I have a neice in England who suffers with IBS, I remember seeing ads and commercials maybe a year or so ago for a new medication that was, I think, aimed towards women with IBS. I cannot recall the name. Can anyone help with the name. I think it was only available on prescription. Thanks so much . Sue

Hi Sue - I think it was Zelnorm - but I could be mistaken.
Below are some links. I don't know anything about the medication or about the quality of the info on the site for the help group. . . but they do have the FDA warnings you could likely google to verify (I don't imagine the warnings will be in an obvious spot on the manufacturer's web site)

All the best,

Thank you Jo, that's exactly the name I was looking for. I had asked a couple of Pharmasists if they could help but they just looked at me like I was totally dumb and it was top secret information! I have now forwarded the sites you recommmended to my niece in England. I am sure she will find the information useful. Thanks again
Sue
