I awoke at 5:30 this morning with heartburn-like symptoms from hell!! The location is directly below the breastbone. I used every type of over-the-counter medication/remedies that worked in the past that I have for it -- not all at once -- they were each spaced out about 45 minutes apart! LOL I tried Tums, Rolaids, Pepto-Bismol, ice cold milk, Titralac (new to me) and still found it unbearable to sit up straight. I then tried a Nexium pill, waited 45 minutes and then decided I was going to explode from the fire within. It finally went away on it's own 7 hours later.
Around 10pm tonight, I was sitting at my dining room table with my laptop playing games and the pain returned. I'm about ready to climb the walls! The only thing I took last night before going to be at 11pm were 2 Tylenol for my knee (arthritis) and took 2 more about an hour ago with food.
My appendix was removed back in 1985 helping me to realize that this pain isn't a radiating type from that.
I guess what I would like to know is can Tylenol cause these symptoms? I know that plain old aspirin can eat a hole in your stomach from the acidity, can the same be said for acetaminophen?
Thank you in advance,
Tracy
