Hoping you all can given me some advice. I am 30 years old, about 85 lbs overweight, and I have GERD. This past week I went out and had pizza with my kids, about 2 hours after we ate I got this strange pain in my chest. It was right in the center of my chest and the pain felt like it went straight through to my back. It hurt for hours, about a total of 6 hours. It wasn't unbearable, but it hurt, on a scale of 1-10 it was about a 6 or 7. Then it eventually let up and went away, the next day same thing happened again. I got the pain again last night when we had pizza again. I don't know what in the world it is???? The Dr suspected I had gallstones back in Dec, I had an ultrasound and it came back normal. Could this be gallstones or a gallbladder attack? Can gallstones form that fast? I mean just 3 months ago I was told I had none, I didn't know if they could form in 3 months? Any ideas about what this could be? I would appreciate any info and feedback. I am at a loss and thought about going into the ER but I don't want to go in there for something minor. Please help!

Thanks for reading this long post.

A few more things, I don't mean to be gross or share too much info but I wanted to add these things...I have been very gassy lately and when I use the bathroom, it is like a light tan/brown color. And my bowels are loose. Okay enough of this yucky stuff.

Hello,

I just read your message online here. I hope that you are feeling better. Did you try any antacids, are you stressed out. Sometimes stress can cause heartburn and other stomach problems.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks for the reply and the prayers, very appreciated. Yes, I take Zantac twice a day for the GERD and I am not stressed.

Hi there. Thought I would add my thoughts to your question. It could be your gallbladder that is acting up - you don't necessarily need to have stones present on ultrasound. There is cholelithiasis (inflammation w/ stones) or cholecyctitis (inflammation without stones). Have you ever heard of the 4 F's?? It can be an indicator of your probability of having gallbladder problems. They go as following:

Female - I am assuming you are
Fat - (sorry) You said you were 85lbs overweight
Fertile - You are 30yrs old & that makes you in your "fertile" years
Flatulant - A fancy way to say you fart alot :-)

Food w/ high fat contents (ie. cheese, grease on pizza, butter, etc...) could trigger an "attack" which is a stabbing pain right in the middle, sometimes radiating around the right side where your liver & gallbladder are. The light brown stool (poop :-)) could be alot of "fat" in the stool. The gallbladder is responsible for breaking down fat in the diet to smaller bits (like dish soap breaks down the fatty stuff on your dishes) & when it is not "doing the job" for whatever reason, the stool is "clay colored" - light brown.

Sooooooo, I would not rule out a problem w/ your gallbladder. Seems it would be worth checking it out because it could become a real problem.

Good luck.
