I had been coughing/clearing my throat after I ate everyday for months. My doctor could not figure out what was going on. She gave me Nexium for acid reflux disease and that didnt' help at all. Then she siad it might just be due to "nerves".
Well the actual cause is pretty surprising. My dental bridge came loose while eating and I had to go have it fixed. I'm wearing a temporary bridge right now while the permanent one is made. The dentist said my old one had been leaking cement for a while. I was swallowing this as I ate and it made me cough. After I went to the dentist, my cough disappeared completely.
If you are having this problem, don't always assume acid reflux right away! If you have dental work with cement on it, consider having it checked out.

Wow, who would have ever guessed that old cement from bridgework could cause such problems?
