I havent been diagnosed with IBS, but think I may have it. I have had just about every test done on me by my doctor and he says Im perfectly healthy. But Im NOT! It seems like after I eat, and doesnt seem to really matter what it is, I am in the restroom with diarrhea for the rest of the evening, or have horrible cramping and a big, hard as a rock belly.
I know there are certain things that really seem worse- like certain veggies, lettuce and broccoli- real bad. I have also noticed with milk, but not with cheese or ice cream. Also with citrusy fruits. Theres really no rhyme or reason for a pattern to follow.
Is it hereditary? My mom has it.
It does seem to get worse with stress.
How can I make my doctor believe me and not think Im a hypochondriac? How can I not spend the rest of the day in the bathroom? Ive been trying to lose weight, but eating too many fruits and veggies does me in! Medicines dont really seem to help- Rolaids, Prilosec, Mylanta etc. I have been doing Dr Natura Colonix for the past month, but no real changes, my stomachs a little flatter but thats about it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Glad you found us!
What type of doctor are you seeing? Have you been to a gastroenterologist?
Try keeping a food diary and see if any patterns start showing up. You'll have something to show the doctor, plus you may see patterns that you can change yourself too. Here are some sites to help...

<I have been keeping a food journal and nothing really links together. I think what I may start doing also is keeping a food journal and how I was feeling that day- good day, grumpy, stressed etc- as I think alot of mine is stress related. The only 1 thing that is continual in making my stomach go nuts is lettuce- and I love salads!
I have just been going to my PCP, who is an internal medicine doctor. Unfortunatly- the way my insurance works, I have to have a referral from my PCP to go to a specialist, and since my doctor doesnt seem to think anything is wrong, I doubt that Ill get a referral. I do work for 3 surgeons who do colonoscopies and gallbladder stuff, but I didnt really want to bother them with this, but Im thinking I might (Im relatively new to this job, and didnt want to be a bother)
Keeping track of your moods might be helpful, since you feel that stress is contributing. I fully understand the insurer/PCP
