Hello :)
First timer here. If anyone can help me with this I'd really appreciate it. Ok...I go through periods of months at a time where I am nauseous all day every day. Then for a week to a few weeks I'll be fine....then back to nausea again. I've tried pepto, maloxx total stomach, zantac, prilosec, crackers, peppermint, etc. Nothing helps!!! I do on rare occassions actually vomit. My regular dr. just kept telling me it was probably indigestion. So I switched drs. The new dr. said the same thing. Neither of them ran any tests. I've had times of indigestion after eating from time to time & this is not indigestion. Does anyone else experience this or have any other suggestions on what might help ease the nausea??? Oh yes, not my gall bladder...had it taken out a year ago. Took awhile for dr. to believe me on that too, that I was having pain & such. Finally sent me for test & showed it didn't function at all. Ok. sorry for long post. Thanks in advane :)

Glad you found us RS, but sorry to hear about the constant nausea. Here are a few sites that discuss nausea and possible remedies...

I find that a spoonful of Emetrol, an otc anti-nausea med usually helps, but there are Rx drugs also.

<You may want to consider keeping a food diary to see if you can link the nausea to any particular food group. Or eliminate a food group from your diet for a few weeks and see if that makes a difference.
There is a free food journal at www.fitday.com that I use from time to time.
My GB was removed in 2004 and I find that if I consume to much fat I'll become nauseated. When I say 'too much fat' - I'm not talking about eating an entire Sara Lee cake - but if I were to have a slice with regular ice cream I'm guaranteed to be nauseated the rest of the day.
All the best.

I'm sorry you're having to deal with this...nausea is no fun to say the least!
I struggle w/ nausea alot myself but for me the culprit is stress and anxiety. If I get anxious or really stressed then I feel queasy and have no appetite. I never vomit though. For me taking deep breaths or trying to distract myself helps.
I wonder if the nausea is connected to the fact that you had your gallbladder out. It may be that you're having trouble digesting foods (like a pp said) now. I would second a food journal, that's always a good start.
Make an appt. w/ your doctor too! :)
HTH!
Thanks for sharing! Sometimes it helps just to know that others have dealt with similar issues. I am like you in that stress can cause me to feel queasy and then I lose my appetite.
Hopefully RS will see her doctor and get to the bottom of this!

At least September isn't too far off and this will give you time to start writing down things, like what seems to aggravate and what seems to lessen your discomfort. You might start to see a pattern that will help the GI doc and eventually help you too!
Please keep us updated, OK?
