So sorry to hear that you've been so sick, but it's great that you finally saw a doctor, had testing done and are now on the road to feeling much better!

It is probable that this would have happened and had nothing to do with your pregnancy, although you might have been more predisposed, with the extra stress.

How long have you been on medication and is it helping yet? If you aren't feeling any improvement, be sure to let the doctor know. They can only Rx what they think might help, but we are all different and sometimes medication dosages have to be fine tuned.

The surgery should help and you'll need to ask your doctor what to expect afterwards. Some people go right back to eating a poor diet, but learning to eat healthier is always a good way to recover. When is the surgery scheduled? I'll be here to answer questions and find whatever info I can.

thank you! i just recently started going to the doctors for all this testing in july. the surgeon thats doing my surgery prescribed me protonix for acid reflux its only been 3 weeks so i have to wait another month before i can tell if thats working. there taking my gallbladder out sept 5 so hopefully that will help alot. and just found out yesterday about my ulcer when i went and got my egd done. the nurse is gonna call me back in a few days when they get everything back from the lab so they can put me on more medications. its so hard to go through this i cant wait to feel better again i never had any problems until after i had my son but i think the gallstones and ulcers run in my family and acid reflux my mom has that. so i guess i could of gotten it anyways.

Protonix seems to help most people with ulcers, so be sure to let your doctor know if you don't feel any improvement, but like you said, you have to give it some time to work.

September 5th isn't that far off, so hopefully you'll continue feeling better and even manage to feel great by the time the holidays roll around. It's hard to believe that Fall and that mad rush will begin soon, isn't it?
