Bathroom Issues

This is really embarrassing, which is why I don't like to talk to the doctor about it. I know everyone goes to the bathroom, but I'm really self-conscious about it.
My problem is that I only go to the bathroom like twice a week maximum. So when I do, it hurts. Lately when I go, I bleed a lot. It's almost like I got my period, but not. The bleeding stops fast, so I don't know if it's the opening that's getting cut up or if there's blood somewhere in my digestive system that's coming out. When I go, it's usually really big. The last time I went was about a week ago. I know this isn't healthy, but I'm so embarrassed to talk about it I'd rather just deal with it than tell the doctor. Any suggestions?

Glad you found us and certainly can understand your embarrassment. Many folks don't want to discuss 'bathroom' issues, but look at it this way...would you rather ignore problems now and end up with something major, or worse yet, something that is beyond being fixed? Imagine needing a bunch of medical personnel doing stuff that is embarrassing to you x 10...which is worse, a couple of questions now, or the other option?
We are all different and maybe your body only needs to 'empty out' a couple times a week? Are you uncomfortable during the week? How much do you eat? There are many variables that will determine how often we need to go to the bathroom, see what I mean?
What you've described could be a lack of fiber in your diet and not enough water being drunk. I eat a pretty healthy diet, but still add some Benefiber to foods and even plain water, which I drink a LOT of each day.
