Ok here is my problem I'm hoping someone can help. The doctor thinks I have acid reflux, I don't. I did have my gallbladder removed almost 3 years ago (I'm 28), and since then no problems about a month ago I started getting similar pain to gallbladder attacks (but way milder just in the same place) and I still have it every day its usually a mild ache in my upper stomach, sometimes radiating to the back, I really can't find any foods its associated with sometimes I can eat bad and I feel great. I usually wake up with this dull ache and by later afternoon or evening I feel better. The doctor thinks its acid reflux, although I don't get heart burn or any burning feeling, usually just the mild ache. I'm on prevacid now for 4 days and it isn't working. I'm wondering do you think I could have acid reflux and it's going to take more time for the prevacid to work or could this be gallbladder related like spincter of oddi (which I found on the internet).
I'd love to hear from you guys as I cry all the time and drive myself crazy with worry.
Very worried

Hi and welcome to the board - before I even finished reading your post I was thinking spincter of oddi. I had my GB out in Feb/04 and have been having problems ever since. After many many ultra sounds and CT scans they are finally sending me for an MRI which will rule out having any stray stones in the ducts and I believe determine if it is indeed spincter of oddi.
On the plus side - the last doctor I saw (GI specialist) told me that if it is spincter of oddi that normally the pain stops gradually
Thank you for replying Jo! I was going to look for the thread that contained this info, but here you are.

<Tonight my chest hurts I feel like crap. I had my gallbladder removed 2 1/2 years ago though and never had problems till now. Is there anything I can do to relieve my symptoms now in the mean time??
