I don't know if I have a stomach ulcer or not but those of you that have had stomach ulcers what were your symptoms? How was it treated and once you were treatd how long did it take for the medicine to work to heal the ulcer?

How long have you been experiencing pain/discomfort? Seeing your doctor is the best way to be certain, plus if it is an ulcer, the sooner you are diagnosed, the sooner you can begin treating it.
Years ago, what I thought might be an ulcer turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. The sensation I had was actually internal bleeding; not a very pleasant feeling at all!

<I've been on prevacid for almost 2 weeks and the symptoms haven't gone away yet. I seem better (I thinK?) just when I think that then I have a bad day. People keep telling me it sounds like an ulcer I was wondering how long it would take for prevacid to work, like could it take weeks for symptoms to go away. I have been pretty worried and worked up and drive myself crazy because I've been having symptoms for 2 months. I usually feel ok just quite often a dull ache in my upper stomach.
I can understand your frustration, but keep in mind that you became aware of the symptoms around 2 months ago. If it is an ulcer, it may have been forming for a while before you became aware of it. You've only been on the medication for a couple of weeks. Possibly your doctor will decide to adjust the dosage, or even switch you to a different drug. Unfortunately it may take some time to tell if this is helping and you want it to go away yesterday, right?

<Hi
Unfortunately I'm a big worry wart and I worry there is something wrong like cancer or something. I'm only 28 so I certainly hope not. I'm definately not getting any worse thought and my appetite is good. I just wish I could know its nothing to worry about.
Being a worry wart isn't all bad. Someone else might not have seen a doctor yet and let whatever is wrong build into something harder to treat.
Honestly, if your doctor thought it was cancer, he/she would have ordered tests to look into it. Give the medication more time to work and if you are that concerned, call and talk to your doctor.
