Gas pains around back for hours?

Hi There,
My best friend's husband had 3 stents put in his heart
2 weeks ago - he had two clogged arteries. He's doing well so far - he's 47 and he's
a health nut - works out, eats healthy, doesn't drink or smoke.
It's always the way, right?
Anyway, my girlfriend is a nervous wreck. He's been getting
gas pains around the back - all meds he takes doesn't work well.
Is that bad to have gas pains that badly around the back? I've
never heard of this. He had it all last night and still has it today.
He's going to the doctor this afternoon. What could this be?
Is this normal for someone that gets indigestion/acid reflux or is this
not good? He can hardly eat anything anymore without getting
these gas pains around his back.
Thank you for any feedback you may have. Hocky

Hi Hocky, what a good friend you are, trying to find some answers for your friend.

I have not been able to find anything. I hope the doctor was able to suggest what is causing the pain and more importantly, what to do to stop it. Please let us know what you learn!

I supposedly have acid reflux, it doesn't always hurt in my back but when it does it lasts for hours. I usually only get it once or twice a week in my back but once it lasted for almost 24 hours, weird I know. I have no idea why.

i've had acid reflux for 10+ years and my symptoms seem to change as i get older...I get gas pains in my back they don't last long... and i have times where my stomach hurts so bad, it feels liks someone is punching me, i've learned its gas and i just have to learn experiment how to get rid of them.
