What are these "things" I am excreting?

This is a little long.....I will try to make it short. I have been suffering from what my doctor diagnosed as IBS. I occasionally bloat like I am pregnant, lose my appetite, get full very quickly, and experience some general abdominal pain. I have been constipated as long as I can remember. I was prescribed Miralax and 2 bottles of Magnesium Citrate. After the second bottle of Mag citrate, I get the usual diarrhea but this time, there is something different. There are these seasame seed sized, coffe colored fleshy pieces floating in the bowl after I "evacuate". I feel confident they are not fecal matter. What could they be? Has anyone ever had this experience before? Should I tell my doc? I already feel like a hypochondriac (sp?). Help me, please?

Welcome sharonformike...shall we refer to you as Sharon?

Can you remember every single thing that you are within the past week or so? It is possible that what you are describing is something you ate. If you are still very concerned about this, try scooping up a few of these 'things' and place them in a sterile jar. If your Dr. thinks it is warranted, he will order a lab test to have them checked out.

Truth is, I have barely been eating anything. I have not been hungry and when I have eaten, I got full so quickly or nauseas and would have to stop soon after starting. To be fair, I have looked back on my eating log and have found nothing that would look like this.

Now that the diarrhea is subsiding, I don't see many, but I did harvest one to show the doc.......if he wants to see it. I am so curious as to what they could be. I hope they aren't anything like polyps. That would mean there are a bunch of them. Somehow I doubt they would be expelled like that, though.

I seem to be feeling quite a bit better and have even been able to eat this week. The abdominal distention is down, too. That's a huge relief because it was up 5" from normal for the second time in as many months. I just wonder when the next bout will transpire and do these little seed sized things mean anything?

Heck, I don't know.............that's why I was asking.
