hello,
this may be a question for a doc. Here is the history, i will try to be concise. I am a 29yo female recently diagnosed via history and ultrasound with a diseased gb, contracted, filled with stones and sludge. Laprascopic removal has been strongly suggested, and after a consult with a surgeron, (who also stated it my turn into an open procedure during)i am almost ready to set it up. But I still have some nagging questions. I've read about gb disease, and I don't really fit some of the things i've read. I've never had an "exruciating" attack of pain, it's more of an almost constant dull ache, especaially after I eat. Also, I have no pain in my right sided abdomen, it's all in the upper left side. My ultrasound scan was taken with the probe angled into my left abdomen with me laying on the left side (which is where they said the stones/sludge/diseased gb is). I'm no doc or surgeon, but I know basic anatomy...wrong side, and I have not had these questions answered adaquatly by my pcp or the surgeon. By the way, I have been dealing with this abdominal discomfort now for about 7 years. Can anyone relate, answer any questions, or give advice? ANy help is GREATLY appreciated
thanks

<If the ultra sound shows sludge, stones and evidence of a diseased gallbladder - the thing to do is get it out before you have a major attack. The GB disease they refer to is likely because the GB is enlarged and/or the walls thickened.
It could be causing pain on the left side - I remember someone saying that she thought it was
Good luck and let us know what opinion the second surgeon has!
