Hello everyone! I've been researching and am going to try some digestive enzymes and probiotics to see if it will help the issues I'm dealing with. I've found some brands and want to buy it tomorrow but I still need help deciding. I'm really not sure which is the best.

Essential Enzymes by Source naturals looked really good, they also have an Acidophilus supplement, has anyone tried this brand?

Metagenics Spectrazyme is an enzyme that also makes a probiotic, anyone familiar with this one?

I also was wondering about PB-8, Pearls, Culturelle, and Primadophilus Retueri.

I'm really considering the first one, lol, I know there's a lot to choose from, I was getting more confused the more I read. I've never taken something like this before so I really am trying to research it all.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thanks :)

Hi and welcome to the board. What did you decide to buy and has it helped? You never mentioned why you were interested in taking any of the mentioned products, so it would be difficult to give an opinion about what helps the most. I take acidophilus 3 times a day, to keep the intestinal flora active and friendly, plus it has always helped keep me from getting an attack of the 'yeasty boys', when I've needed to be on antibiotics. Unlike most of my female friends, I don't get UTI's (urinary tract infections), which are more common when you take antibiotics often.

Hi there I am currently using a probotic that resists stomach acid and boost phosphate. I find it to be very beneficial, I do not have heartburn and it was an all day long occurence before. It is natural and kosher. Let us know how it works for you.

I ended up buying Essential enzymes and PB8. The first few days I took it things were great, I noticed an immediate difference with the enzymes. The past few days have still been ok, but I still have pains in my stomach. The reason I wanted to take them was because every time I eat I get gas pains almost instantly and it's really uncomfortable if I'm at work or somewhere with friends. I also have social anxiety and when I get ready to go somewhere, sometimes even work, I get really stressed and them my tummy starts hurting which creates issues. I haven't noticed anything with the PB8, but I'm not really sure what's supposed to change with that.

I really hope they weren't expensive. How are they working now a few days later?

They weren't really, I think for both of them I paid around $20, maybe that is expensive compared to other things..lol. Things seem to be almost the same as before, I just don't get as many gas pains as before, but I still get them. I heard that sometimes it takes up to a month for things to start working properly.
