Hi...I am a newbie and posted a few days ago, and took the CL's advice and made an appt. with the GI specialist my MD referred me to-however they cannot see me until Feb 5! I am going nutty thinking some thing is seriously wrong. Can those of you who have experience with acid reflux/heartburn give me some insight? I notice an increase of symptoms when I am stressed, and was delighted to have no symptoms for the past 2 days, then wham, back to my business, back to burning in my throat-I rarely experience this in my chest (maybe 1-2 times). I have had this since October. Thanks for any support!! I really appreicate it, and sorry to be so needy :)

I am so happy that you made the appointment. Does this office have a cancellation list? Some have one...you have your name added and if someone cancels, you'll be called before that February appointment date. It is worth trying, if you haven't done so already.
What OTC products have you tried so far? Have you tried raising the head of your bed? That helps many people keep acid from getting into the esophagus.
You are not being needy at all. Anytime we face something new and unfamiliar, it raises stress levels and that's what this board is for; to help answer questions and try to keep you calm(er). Post as often as you need to and ask as many questions too...the only 'dumb' questions are the ones never asked.

who knows.....i am trying to drink more water;that helps, as well as keeping up the probiotics. the weird thing is, i don't drink, smoke, not overweight, so i don't know whay this is occuring. i did just turn 40,so maybe that's it!
Thanks for the help and support....i'll keep popping in to see if more folks post about this.
Take care and Happy New Year!
