Hi all
Been reading some of the posts on left side pain. Barr, Cathy and others hope u r doing well. I, too, have left side pain radiates to my side, back and sholder blade. I get pain and fullness esp. after eating (and not only after large meals--tea and toast can cause it!). Between meals i have this growling, fizzing, crunching sensation under my left rib. It is louder when i inhale & exhale and expand my stomach. I have had ct-scan,colonoscopy,endoscopy,gallbladder test, test where i drink barium. All are normal (so they say...) I don't feel normal. I want to be able to enjoy a meal. I've tried 4 diff. meds. but none take away my symptoms. Ibuprofen does help the back pain--but not the digestive stuff. I had someone tell me (not a dr--he poo-poo it when i asked him about it)she had a dr tell her disorders of the celiac attery can cause the symptoms i describe. Anybody else ever heard of this........
Thanks
Take care everybody

Welcome okokok2006!
I looked for info about what you brought up, but couldn't find anything helpful to explain it. I also didn't find any suggested treatment options or suggestions. What information have you found about this?
You may have more than one issue going on...the back pain might not be related to the digestive issues. Please share whatever information you have found and I'll try to see what else I can find!

<Barr, I think I suggested this before, but in case I didn't, or you forgot...please remove your email address from this post. You can go back and edit it and remove it. Leaving it here gives spammers an easy way to harvest your email addy. They have programs that scan for easily accessible addys.
It is safer to add your email address to your profile. If anyone wants to reach you, they have to get it that way.
The last thing you need is to start getting junk email and have your email box filling up with garbage, right?

<Thanks for the reply and the welcome. I've been told that b4--2 separate issues. I have worked in a grocery store as a checker for going on 27 years-so i stand on my feet and do alot of twisting and turning. Try to keep good form when working. Been told by a chiropractor i have slight arthritis starting in my low back-yikes-i'm only 43! What puzzles me is why is the pain worse after i eat? And in my front/stomach? And what is this crazy crunching, growling noise that comes from my left gut when i breathe (happens when stomach is empty or partially empty). Maybe it's muscular-but why does it affect my gut, appetite, and why after/during i eat. I know the body can act in strange ways and when pain is involved it's anybody's guess.
The whole digestive dis. idea started when about 5 years ago i was having major gas issues-like passing 10 times in 5 minutes! No pain just lots of gas. In past 2-3 years gas has subsided somewhat, but then this pain thing started.
The meds i've tried: Hyosciamein (generic-sp? sorry about sp. i don't have btl. anymore) made me regular but didn't help pain.
Prilosec good for lump/food in throat feeling and heartburn but ditto on pain. Zelnorm gave me the shakes-like a low blood sugar feeling. I'm now taking Propantheline (i can spell this one-currently taking and have btl-lol)this stuff MAY be helping-the jury's still out. I'm giving it a chance. I'm supposed to take it b4 i eat but if i do that, by the 3rd bite my mouth is dry and the food is like wallpaper paste in my mouth. i told dr i have to take partway thru a meal-he said ok but med may take longer to work. we'll see.
http://patients.uptodate.com/topic.asp?file=gi_dis/31927 This is one of the articles a friend at my work gave me about celiac artery compression syndrome. If the link didn't
work, just google " " " ". Alot of the symptoms they discribe in this article relate to me.
Thanks for your input and suggestions.
Take care.
