I had to get this doctor at the last minute, but she was one that my gastroenterologist picked that he uses and says she is good. I did not have a good rapport with her. I had the staples out last Thursday, still don't feel much better. I did call her office again today and she related to me through her secretary that everyone heals differently and that I sound as if I'm on track and to expect to go back to work one month after surgery. So as far as I'm concerned, I've had it with her. I will call my gastro doc and speak with him about the situation. He knows me well, I've been going to him for 22 years, and he should have the surgery report by now. If I don't feel well enough to go back to work in 2 weeks, I'll go see him. But you did make me feel better about my progress, or lack of, at this point. I thank you so very much.

Thanks for the update Debby. The surgeon sounds like she follows a textbook and won't deviate from what the 'averages' are.
I think seeing your own doctor is a good idea, especially since he knows you for a longer period of time. Don't wait to make the appointment, since it will be extra important to see him about returning to work too soon.
