I found out I have gall stones earlier this week and am meeting with a surgeon Monday about getting my gall bladder removed.
If you have already gone through this, are there any questions I should make sure I ask the surgeon?
Thank you in advance for any advice-- I have never had surgery before and want to make sure that I get all the important information I need at my appointment.

Here is a great site that may give you many answers...

As for basics to ask about...open or laparoscopic, what medications and supplements to stop taking before surgery because of blood thinning properties, how long for recovery, depending on which surgery is done, what limitations to expect afterwards. You might want to ask if there are any options available, other than surgery.
Honestly, technology has come a long way and this surgery shouldn't keep you down for long at all.
After checking out the site I provided, please come back and feel free to ask about anything you still aren't sure about. We've had a few members that recently had this surgery and I'm sure they'll offer suggestions too!
