Sharp pain to the touch *PLEASE help!!!*

For about a week now I have had tenderness on my lower right abdomen, just above a four inch scar I have from an appendectomy 16 years ago. I doubt it is from having appendecitis as a child because it was so long ago. It's sooo weird. It doesn't really hurt on its own, only when something pushes on it or if i push on it. Nothing else has really changed, no constipation or diarrhea, no vomiting... The only strange thing I can remember before it began last weekend was eating corn at a restaurant and the next day there was undigested corn in my stool (sorry guys that is super gross but the only thing I can remember that has been different). Guys I'm super scared and it's really driving me crazy... The pain isn't necessarily unbearable but it worries me every time I feel it. Right now I have no job and no insurance and only a few hundred dollars to my name and if I go to the doctor for this and use what I do have left I don't want it to be in vain! Do you guys think something serious is wrong or should I wait it out?

Thanks so much!

So sorry that you have this new pain, but it does sound like something that needs to be checked by a doctor. Are there any clinics nearby, or a hospital that has a good ER?

It probably has nothing to do with your past appendectomy, but I have to tell you what happened to me. About 10 years after my appendectomy, I noticed a sharp, black 'something' near my scar...it turned out to be a piece of suture material that had worked its way up and out. I was at my Gyne appointment and asked what he thought it was, next thing I knew, he had grabbed some tweezers and yanked at it! He pulled out a suture that was about 4 inches long...can you imagine my shock?

Anything is possible and getting in to see a doctor is your best bet. Please let us know what you learn, OK?
