What can I wear into surgery? Am I ONLY allowed to wear a gown???
Ok, so I said this was an odd question...
Any chance they would let me wear a sports bra that opens in the front? I assume one that opens in front would be best in case they need to get it off...
I am like, a G-cup so going without support is very uncomfortable...
Sorry about asking the question...I could not figure out where else to ask!!!

That is a very logical question, based on your bust size. I have never heard of anyone being allowed to wear any undergarments, but would suggest that you call and ask your surgeon, or his office staff about your concern.

I take back what I just said...a couple of years ago, I had the unfortunate experience of having a rather invasive breast biopsy done only 2 days before I was having both ovaries removed. I was able to keep the supportive bandages intact, along with a sport-type bra, with the understanding that in an emergency, they could cut off the bra, if necessary.

Let us know what you are able to find out.

I have had GB Surgery and am in the medical field. You can wear the bra up to the time you need to leave for OR. You Cannot wear a bra in the OR, due to the fact you will be under a general anesthetic and should your heart stop (worse case-rarely happens) they might need to use the paddles and the bra would interfere. No time to cut it off. Having said that...talk to your surgeon. The procedure is fairly easy. I was back to work in less than a week and I'm nearly 50 yrs old. I hope all goes well for you! It's not a difficult procedure, but given your bra size, you will def need support soon after the surgery! Best of luck!
