Pain after gallbladder removal

I had my gallbladder removed in January of this year. It was removed laproscopically. I've been feeling about 100% for about a month now, and I'm back into my regular routine. If I didn't have the scars, I wouldn't even know that I had the surgery.

For the past couple of weeks I've been having this pain on the right side, just below my ribs, where my gallbladder used to be. It sometimes goes all the way through to my back. It's not terrible, not anything like the pain I was in before, but I thought I should be better by now.

Has anyone else had this? I'm so sick of going to the doctor...and I'm kinda monitoring the pain...if it continues I will go in and see him, but, if I'm normal, then I'm just gonna press on.

Thanks.

I am confused because you say that you've been feeling 100% and are back to your normal routine, but then add that you're feeling this pain for the past few weeks.

Have you been seeing doctors a lot lately...since the surgery in January? Any new pain should be checked out, just to be on the safe side. It might be normal healing, but better to find that out for sure, right?

Shoot...sorry, I guess I didn't make much sense. I would say back at the beginning of March I was feeling 100%, I was back in business, doing my normal thing. I was pain free.

Over the course of the past few weeks I've been noticing the pain...its not keeping me from doing anything, but it's a new thing.

And yes...I've been having way too many doctors appoinments recently. After the GB surgery I had a breast MRI and then a breast biopsy...followed up by a sinus infection. So, I'm sick of the doctor and sick of co-pays.

If the pain gets worse, I will go in right away. If I don't have any improvement by the end of this week/early next week, I will make an appointment to go in. I just don't want to waste my time, or my doctors time.

I was hoping someone else would say that they've had a similar experience...and that it's just my insides getting settled. Or something like that.

Thanks for explaining! I can really identify with all you've been dealing with lately. I also had to have a breast biopsy (mine was with a guide wire...not pleasant at all), just days before another surgery to remove both ovaries; one had a huge cyst.

On top of all of that, the hospital pre-admission testing showed a possible heart issue and my idiot primary doc thought a running stress/treadmill test was perfectly fine...the day after the breast biopsy. Can we say OUCH? Sheesh, I still shake my head in amazement over that stupidity. BTW, I ended up having the drug induced stress test.
