Constant Heartburn

I have constant heartburn these days and take antacids fairly often. I thought of going to the doctors and getting the purple pill everyone talks about, but I’d rather try to control the heartburn through diet. Does anyone have any recommendations about what I should and should not be eating? I’ve already given up fried foods, spicy foods, chocolate, beer and wine. I was told to give up coffee and tea, but I only want to give up one of these. I need at least ONE caffeinated hot drink each morning.

Thanks ladies for your replies! I hope yogurt isn't doing this. I know citrus fruit and some "heavy" carb laden vegetables give me heartburn. Tomato sauce has been bothering me too. People tell me coffee causes heartburn, but I haven't gotten heartburn after drinking coffee.
