Wonder about gallstone diagnosis

Really need some thoughts on gallbladder problems.
I have had a dull backache across my lower back for 4+ weeks. Not the kind of ache I would get from sore muscles. The ache comes and goes. Sometimes slight nausea. Some bloating and a fullness in the tummy. I thought I had a kidney infection. Since drinking cranberry juice etc. didn't help I finally went to dr. After finding some very mild tenderness dr. recommended an ultrasound. Results were slight distention of gallbladder and at least three gallstones.
My concern is that I don't have the rightside abdomen pain or for that matter any sharp pain or attacks or anything else I've read are symptoms of problematic gallstones or gallbladder disease. I have read that people can have gallstones and have no problem whatsoever. I wonder if even though I do have gallstones if the problem isn't something else since symptoms don't match. Did anyone else have the symptoms I described and it was gallstones?
Thanks for any insight.

Please tell me your doctor actually did a urinalysis at least? Your symptoms sound very much like a kidney infection to me. I don't think gallstones would affect anything near your lower back.
Another possibilty is kidney stones. But having gallstones doesn't increase your chance of having kidney stones, or vice versa, so it would be pretty coincidental to have both.
I've been having some strange pains of my own for the last 3 weeks, though I'm starting to think it's all just a severe abdominal muscle strain. My back has been hurting because it is trying to take the pressure off my ab muscles, and the resulting tension has increased my headaches, which in turn always triggers nausea for me. I'm getting an ultrasound next week anyway.
Good luck and I hope you find a resolution to your problem!

I have to agree with Kelly about checking further for kidney problems.
