Hello....I was just wondering that if anyone out there with GERD that can answer a question for me? I have been dx with GERD for about alittle over a year now and it was ok but, for the past four months every time I eat I get this lump feeling in my throat. Even this morning I woke up with it and it is quite aggravating!!! I have gone to the ER about it...all they said was that it was probably the reflux because my vitals were good. (Good blood pressure and oxygen was 100) I also went to my regular doctor and she said it could be irration in the throat and said that if it kept on she was going to schedule a endoscopy(for which I am scared to death of ) and she also referred me to a digestive specialist which the appointment for that is not till the 11th of May..so, I called my regular doctor this morning to see if she could go ahead and schedule the endoscopy now. It is so bad that I am afraid to eat and have lost 25.5lbs!! Which I was over 200 and could have used to loose some weight!!! :)

I was just wondering if other people with GERD have this too!!! So, I don't think I am going crazy or anything!!

Thanks again,
Jennifer

Welcome Jennifer!

GERD has been mentioned here before; you might want to scroll thru some past posts to see what has been discussed previously. Here is some info about GERD that you might find helpful too...

I also pulled up some info about endoscopy, so you can get a better idea what it is about...

Hi there....I too have Gerd/Chronic reflux. I have had it for 7 months, and had no luck with PPI therapy. My main cause seems to be stress-are you more stressed lately? are you on any meds? I have not had a scope yet either, but that may be coming. Often, food can trigger reflux, particularly diary or gluten....you can get to the bottom of this....be patient. I now see a naturapathic Dr and she has made me feel hopefull-i am on differnent sopplements like DGL and enzymes/herbs. Good luck, keep us posted!

Hi there-

I have also been going thru a lot of digestive issues lately (GERD, reflux, major bloating/gas), and am looking for alternative ways to cope/help with the symptoms and flare-ups. You mentioned you are currently under care of a naturapathic doctor....has that helped you? Where did you find such a doctor? I've tried many medications, so far none have helped me, and I'm ready to try something new. Any info would be terrific - thanks!

Keeping a food diary can help identify which foods are contributing most to your symptoms. For me, tomato, citrus and pastries will set me up for a stubborn problem in no time at all.

Thanks for sharing what is helpful for you.

Stress is probably the biggest challenge for most of us, because it is impossible to live in a stress-free bubble!

Depending on your health insurance, you might start by checking whatever 'list' of providers that are acceptable.
