I want to detox

I am looking for a naturl way to detox my colon. To get rid of wastes and other yucky stuff. Any suggestions out there? Are there any kind of vitamin supplements that do this? Do they cause diareeah (I'm IBS-D, so I really don't want more D!!!) Thanks!

I would suggest seeing your doctor and asking him/her if this is wise and/or needed. Why do you feel that this is necessary?

<As mentioned previously - check with your doctor first. In my opinion the best detox is to eliminate the following from your diet:
The maintenance is important - I know someone who uses a detox 'tea' - but she'll eat junk food all week and thinks it's okay because she'll 'clean it all out' on the weekend. I just don't think that's

<Apparently I have been VERY lucky since having my gallbladder removed. That was 20+ years ago and I can honestly say that I have not had any major digestive issues since that time, except for lactose intolerance, which came along without any warning. Either that, or I am just not aware of anything major going on.
Have you tried eating less processed foods to see if that helps at all? Skipping the frozen meals and taking some fresh fruits and veggies for lunch...is that workable for you?
Did your Dr. recommend the calcium? Have you tried taking less of it and adding more fiber to your diet instead? I understand your 'logic', but it still doesn't sound too wise to me. Flushing out your system that way is also going to cause you to lose needed nutrients.
Have you ever considered that your bloated belly could be from a lactose intolerance? Trust me, when I ingest anything without taking my lactose enzymes, I can sit and watch my belly grow...not a pretty picture at all and never mind the pain! Try writing down all that you eat, drink and any meds (otc and Rx) for a week and see if there is a pattern to when your distress is the highest. IMHO, I'd try this before doing any type of 'detox'.

<I'm so sorry that you are having problems after having your GB out. I had mine removed in Feb/04 and since then have had a mystery pain in my liver area. Lots of tests (CT scan, MRI, etc) and no explanation.
I bloat after eating wheat, yeast or milk. I haven't had cheese in so long that it could possibly cause me to bloat - I just don't know.
The one way to find if you are sensitive to something like wheat or dairy is to eliminate it from your diet for 4 weeks then reintroduce it. You would know right away. The trick is that you can't cheet during that 4 week period or your results won't be conclusive.
I can have a small amount of dairy (a latte once a week or so) - but any more and the belly puffs up. With wheat I'll end up with a belly within hours of consuming a small amount.
Wishing you all the best,
Hi times4,
I've done many colon cleanses to detox but learned that they're bad for your body if done frequently. Then I discovered liquid zeolite. It's a natural mineral that removes toxins, allergens and heavy metals from the body. It's a wonderful product! I've never felt better! I've also talked with others who are on it and it's doing wonders for their health. Also, many doctors are recommending it to their patients with various health problems.
Hope this helps, let me know!
For body detoxification, I would recommend you do a liver gallbladder cleanse. I did a liver cleanse and I saw over 100 little green gallstones. I felt great afterwards. I noticed that whenever I drank coffee or took medicine that I would feel the effects of it pretty quick, and stronger. You can find out more info by googling "Liver Gallbladder cleanse" or "flush"
Another good method of body detox is colon cleansing. I've used a couple of colon cleansers, but I didn't like all of them. The one I prefer is called oxypowder. I prefer that one over colonix, because you don't have to mix laxative teas and fiber shakes. And I also got alot of side effects from Colonix when I took it. Alot of headaches and constipation... so I didn't like one very much.
If you do try a colon cleanser, it would be wise to get a probiotic as well. Just to replenish your intestines with healthy bacteria.
Obviously, you should also check with your doctor, prior to trying any of these. While I feel that they are safe, because I have tried it and benefited from it. However, many people do feel that colon cleansing is unneccessary, and they make good points... so play it safe and check with your doc.
