Bra story (yes, I'm serious)

Hi! I have severe reflux (and IBS - but that's a different story). I take 150 mg of Rinitidine and 40 mg of prilosec a day. I used to take metaclopromide (sp?) but stopped because it was giving me hand tremors. Last summer I had a Plicator Procedure which didn't work.

I have been having reflux every day - especially after I eat and during the night. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat (althome some foods are much worse) - I have reflux. The new Mylanta Ultimate works wonders, but I really hate resorting to taking yet another med.

This past Saturday I went to a lingerie store for some new bras. They had someone doing fittings and I figured I'd confirm that I was wearing the correct size. Believe it or not, my number (rib cage measurement) was 4" too small (and the cup was too big). So I bought a bunch of new bras in the correct size. Believe it or not, it's really helped my reflux. I guess that it's just common sense, but I never thought that I was so off in my sizing. It was like I had a tourniquete around my chest. No wonder I was sick when ever I ate. I still have the evening reflux, but I feel like a whole new person.

It might seem obvious, but I just want to make sure all you women out there take a look at your bras and make sure they fit properly. It can really make a difference. I strongly suggest you go somewhere that has trained women to help you.

Welcome and thanks for the great suggestion!

I am sure many of us just buy what we always have had and don't think about it, but your story certainly proves that getting a proper fitting might be a good idea after all!
